Yumcal is a mobile application that uses AI to identify food from photos, voice and barcodes, estimates its nutritional content, tracks that against personal targets, and offers coaching and social features. It is operated by Baslel Workineh Ayele, a sole trader based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Yumcal is free to use with a limited number of AI scans per day. Yumcal Pro removes that limit and unlocks the full micronutrient panel, the unlimited AI coach, adaptive targets and weekly reports. Plans are offered monthly, annually, and as a Family plan covering up to six people.
Where a free trial is offered, it runs for the period shown at purchase. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription at the price shown, and your Google Play account is charged. You may only use one free trial per account.
Cancel at any time in Google Play → Menu → Subscriptions → Yumcal, or from Profile → Manage subscription in the app. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Purchases are processed by Google Play, and Google’s refund policy applies. Requests go through Google Play, not through us. If you believe you were charged in error, email basketouae@gmail.com and we will help where we can. Statutory consumer rights in your country are unaffected by anything in these terms.
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your meal photos, entries and messages. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the service for you (for example, sending a photo to our food-recognition provider so it can be analysed). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Anything you post in a group is visible to that group’s members. Do not post anything you would not want those people to see.
Yumcal is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
Nutrition figures are AI-generated estimates and will sometimes be wrong. Calorie and macro targets are calculated from standard formulas and are general guidance only. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before significantly changing your diet — especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, managing diabetes, kidney disease or any other medical condition, or have any history of disordered eating. If you are struggling with your relationship with food, please seek professional support.
We aim to keep Yumcal running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. If we discontinue it while you hold an unused prepaid subscription, we will provide a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any health outcome arising from reliance on the app’s estimates. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You may stop using Yumcal and delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete account or our deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms, or if required by law. On termination your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Yumcal after that constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
